Distributing software over the web is big business, but developing and testing web software is still a challenge.  Tools are either limited or very expensive, especially for integrated solutions.  In response to these limitations, Keynote Systems has released a new product called KITE, or Keynote Internet Testing Environment.

KITE is tightly integrated to a web browser and makes it easy to record test scripts and recorded scripts can be easily shared with other team members.  These tests can be used to test performance from the browser or on the server, and for regular and AJAX calls.  Finally, KITE provides a cloud testing environment that will run the performance scripts from up to 5 cities around the world.

KITE is being provided free as a service to promote better web performance.

Vik Chaudhary has been at Keynote for 6 years managing Keynote’s flagship products – Transaction Perspective® and Application Perspective® – and has extended the company into new markets via ten acquisitions. He has spent 19 years in chief executive, product strategy and engineering positions at blue-chip and start-up technology companies, holds a B. S. in Computer Science and Engineering from MIT and is a frequent speaker at Web performance industry events.

Abelardo Gonzalez is originally from Matamoros, Mexico, but now lives in San Francisco, CA.  He currently works as a Product Manager for Keynote Systems, and is on the road often.
