While the Scrum methodology of software development has been in use for many years, it is still less well known than other systems. Cydni Tetro, Chief Marketing Officer of NextPage, joins Phil and Scott to discuss it.  In addition to reviewing the basic concepts and terms, she talks about how NextPage uses Scrum for its projects.  She describes the responsibilities of each member of the development team and gives a number of useful examples to help make the concept more understandable.

Cydni also talks about how Twitter can be used in marketing, issues related to startup funding, as well as the issues related to women in the technology field.

Cydni Tetro directs the strategy and execution of NextPage’s product and marketing initiatives. She is part of the core NextPage executive team, which has successfully built and sold an enterprise search business to FAST (now Microsoft) and introduced another breakthrough application.

Cydni was named for the last five consecutive years to the vSpring Capital Top 100 Venture Entrepreneurs (v|100). She is a finalist for the 2008 Stevie Awards Best Entrepreneur, is founder of the Women Tech Council and co-founder of the Marketing Executive Forum. She serves as an Advisory Board Member for the BYU eBusiness Center and the National Society for New Communications.

Prior to joining NextPage, Cydni oversaw the Novell Directory Services (NDS) product group at Novell and managed Novell’s NDS technical support and escalation team. She has also served as an IT manager for Nu Skin and as a tester and beta manager for WordPerfect Corporation. She also founded a new media company, Rocky Mountain Voices.

Cydni holds a master’s degree in business administration and a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Brigham Young University.
