At the O'Reilly where2.0 Conference, Michael Halbherr merges globalization and technological advances in his presentation of Ovi by Nokia. Throughout this clip, he describes the universal usefulness of Ovi, discussing its forty six languages and popularity in over one hundred countries, as well as its data for traffic in cities around the world.

Halbherr also discusses Ovi's utility for pedestrians. He explains its sidewalk maps and detailed navigation instructions, as well as the developing inner-building navigation system and 3-dimensional views.

Michael Halbherr spent two years at europatweb, the Internet investment vehicle of Groupe Arnault, overseeing all technology investments, including gate5. Prior to this he was with the Boston Consulting Group. He left the company after six years at manager level and a core member of BCG's high-tech practice. He then spent four years with the Lab for Computer Science at MIT, and holds a PhD in Computer Science and a Masters in Electrical Engineering from ETH Zurich.

Before joining Nokia in 2006 Michael headed gate5 AG, the former leading supplier of mapping, routing and navigation software and services, for five years. Since the acquisition of gate5 through Nokia, Michael has been heading Location Based Experiences in the Find new experiences. Currently he is Vice President of Find New at Nokia gate5.
