Business needs to adapt to a new paradigm in the current technological age; however, the strategies used by businesses are not limited to enterprise. The US military is also employing technological and communications solutions in order to keep a competitive edge.

US Navy Commander Greg Glaros of the Pentagon's Office of Force Transformation discusses some of the tools the Pentagon is employing to deal with the challenges facing today's military. In situations where the best communication method is often shouting and access to networks is non-existent, employing high-tech solutions requires specialized tactics.

When a billion dollar ship can be destroyed by a hundred dollar mine, new ideas and concepts need to be developed to offer solutions other than kill or be killed. Similarly, a modern military has to be able to multitask, providing humanitarian aid and disaster relief as well as being ready for combat. New ideas and technologies can give the US military advantages that previous tactics could not provide.
