Damian Conway holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science and is an associate professor at Monash University, Australia. A popular speaker and trainer, he is also the author of the books Object Oriented Perl and Perl Best Practices, as well as many well-known CPAN modules. He runs an international IT training company, Thoughtstream, that provides programmer education from beginner to masterclass level throughout Europe, North America, and Australasia. Most of his spare time is spent working with Larry Wall on the design, prototyping, and explanation of Perl 6.
