For anyone that has ever struggled when they encounter a poorly designed and unfriendly interactive voice response system (IVR) system, help is on the way. As a frequent traveler, Shea Berger was fed up with receiving poor customer service from an army of IVRs. It occurred to him and his company fonolo.com, where he is President and CEO, that by examining this problem from a web perspective it might provide the necessary structure to engage the problem.

In this session from the eComm 2008 Emerging Communications Conference, Berger presents some of the challenges fonolo.com faced in developing a solution for this problem. With a combination of technology and manpower, fonolo.com has developed the software necessary to make this feasible, even better, it will be available on the Internet. With advanced features to help you increase your effectiveness as well as protect your interests, the fonolo.com is currently in private beta and will shortly be available in a public beta.

During this session, Berger demonstrates their approach as well as some of the extra features that will be useful to users of fonolo.com. It should be no surprise, that since most people know the dehumanizing effect of IVR's, fonolo.com was voted "Best New Product" in eComm 2008.

Shai Berger is co-founder and CEO of FonCloud & fonolo.com, a startup pushing the boundaries of web-telephony integration. Shai was previously at Keynote Systems (KEYN), where he lead the team responsible for Streaming Perspective, the industry standard for streaming performance measurement. Today, some of the world's largest companies (such as AOL, Akamai, BBC, CNN, and MTV) use that service to ensure that their content reach their audiences. Streaming Perspective is also the basis of Microsoft's certification program for Windows Media hosting companies. Formerly, Shai lead the Streamcheck team from its launch in August of 2000 until its acquisition by Keynote in July 2003.
