Environmental sustainability is still within our reach, says Al Gore in this audio lecture. Providing carefully compiled and compelling scientific evidence attesting to global warming, the former Vice President asserts that the pending environmental disaster is paired with an equally passionate challenge to the next generation's business leaders to do what they can to change the status quo. He urges a Stanford Graduate School of Business audience to take action to become part of the solution in the area of environmental sustainability.

Former Vice President Al Gore is chairman of Generation Investment Management. Gore also serves as chairman of Current TV and is a visiting professor at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Tenn. He was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1976 and to the U.S. Senate in 1984 and 1990, and was inaugurated as the 45th vice president of the United States on January 20, 1993. During the administration, Gore was a central member of President Clinton's economic team. He served as president of the senate, a cabinet member, a member of the National Security Council, and the leader of a wide range of administration initiatives. Gore led the Clinton administration's efforts to protect the environment and authored a best-selling book on the topic, Earth in the Balance: Ecology and the Human Spirit (1992).
