The issue of the H1N1 influenza pandemic remains a hot topic internationally as confirmed cases are reported daily and concerns about access to the H1N1 vaccine increase. Michael Dan's company, The Brink's Company, has been a model of corporate social responsibility. Dan's own record of success working with other companies and the federal government to help our nation prepare for a natural disaster make him a natural leader for the Initiative for Disaster Response.

When H1N1 broke out in April of 2009, the Business Roundtable immediately recognized the impact that an outbreak could have on their member companies in the wider business community. Early on, the Partnership was in close contact with the federal government to insure that they were providing their member companies with the most up-to-date information and guidance from several different agencies.

Surveys show that Business Roundtable companies are taking the H1N1 outbreak very seriously and preparing themselves accordingly.  In this informative audio interview, Dan demonstrates how important corporate citizenship is in times of natural disaster or disease outbreaks.

Michael Dan was elected President, Chief Executive Officer and Director of The Brink's Company in February, 1998 and was elected Chairman of the Board effective January 1, 1999.  He also serves as Chief Executive Officer of Brink's Incorporated, a position he has held since July 1993.  From August 1992 to July 1993 he served as President of North American operations of Brink's Incorporated and as Executive Vice President of Brink's Incorporated from 1985 to 1992.
